Located in the heart of the Bronx, Tremont United Methodist Church is a welcoming and diverse congregation committed to sharing the love of Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, service, fellowship, and community outreach. We believe the church is more than a place to worship - it is a family of faith where people of all ages and backgrounds can grow spiritually, build lasting relationships, and serve others with compassion.
Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by living out God's love in our community. Through meaningful worship, Bible study, prayer, Christian education, and outreach, we seek to nurture faith and bring hope to those we serve.
Serving our community is at the heart of our ministry. Through Manna House, we help provide food and support to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Our Health Ministry promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being through health education, awareness, and encouragement. We also minister to those who are sick and shut in by offering visits, prayer, companionship, and spiritual care, ensuring that every member of our church family feels remembered, supported, and loved.
Prayer is the foundation of our ministry. Throughout the week, our Prayer Ministry offers opportunities for devotion, prayer, Bible study, and fellowship. Members and friends gather in person, by telephone, and online to pray together, encourage one another, and grow deeper in their relationship with God. We believe that prayer strengthens our faith, unites our church family, and equips us to serve our community with love and compassion.
We are also committed to lifelong learning and empowering our community through education. We proudly offer free English as a Second Language (ESL), Spanish as a Second Language (SSL), and Citizenship classes, providing valuable opportunities for individuals to develop language skills, prepare for the U.S. citizenship process, and build confidence for the future.
